What is it
The 835 Weekend is an intentionally planned, invite-only getaway, hosted by the Europe region of Assemblies of God World Missions, for young adults to explore how their unique giftings could fit in the diverse context of missions in Europe. There's no registration fee for the weekend! We simply want to host you and get to know you.
" For whoever wants to save their life will lose it,
but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. "
Mark 8:35
The weekend gets its name from the verse above. Culture tells us that traveling around Europe is a way to "find yourself," to discover your identity and purpose, but Jesus calls us to lose ourselves for Him and His Gospel. We are searching for men and women who know their identity in Christ, who desire to live with great purpose and who are willing to lose themselves following Jesus to the places where people don't yet know Him.
Get Away to the Ozarks
The lodge is nestled in the Ozark Mountains in Missouri and overlooks Table Rock Lake—a perfect spot to unplug and spend time with the Lord.

Meals with Missionaries
We want to know you, and we want you to know us too. Gather with missionaries and leaders within AG World Missions to hear what it's like to be on the mission field and ask questions about the path to get there.
Discovery Sessions
As you spend time in community and with God this weekend, we want to provide opportunities for you to explore your unique skills and giftings and learn how they fit the many needs in Europe.

Meaningful Moments
Take a walk by the lake with a missionary mentor, spend time on the porch enjoying the view and swapping life stories, soak in moments of quiet reflection or intimate worship listening to what the Holy Spirit might want to speak to your heart.

Who's going to be there?

Your hosts
Mark + Dalene Good
Western Europe Area Directors
with a focus on Training and Mentoring
Their passion is to see people liberated from the crushing weight of living without Christ. They’ve had the honor of walking with muslim & secular friends towards a vibrant relationship with Jesus for the last 32 years in Hong Kong, Bangladesh, and France. They’ve planted university ministry, a national children’s ministry department, a non-traditional church, and training hubs to help the next generation discern their missions call, be equipped in pioneering, and launched into their own ministries. Mark loves baseball and all things coffee, while Dalene enjoys trying recipes and restoring furniture. They can’t wait to meet you!

LARRY + MELINDA
HENDERSON
Larry serves as Regional Director for AG World Missions in Europe, and Melinda is the founder of the INSPIRE Project—check it out @inspireglobalsisterhood. They both felt the call to ministry and missions as teenagers. After serving as youth pastors in the US for 10 years, they began a journey in overseas missions that took them to the countries of Costa Rica, Canary Islands, and Austria. For them, there's no doubt that missions is the call that God placed on their life. They love doing ministry side-by-side (married for 34 years!) and consider it a privilege to live that out one day at a time. Want to know something crazy? Larry’s never had a cup of coffee but loves a good Dr Pepper. Lucky for Melinda she drinks her cup of coffee plus Larry's portion.

MARK + PAULA
BOONE
Mark & Paula are Career Missionaries to Europe serving as Europe Mobilization Directors. They previously served in Austria at Vienna Christian Center as Executive Pastors to 8 congregations representing over 90 nationalities. Paula serves as the Executive Director for the INSPIRE Global Sisterhood, a multi-generational global movement of evangelism, empowering women and girls around the world to make sharing their faith normal. Mark and Paula have served as pastors and worship leaders. They have a heart to see the local church release their sons and daughters to answer the call of God on their lives so that more missionaries are sent and more churches are planted across Europe until all have heard. Paula enjoys cooking and mentoring women. Mark enjoys the outdoors and a very wide appreciation of music.

SHAWN + DEB
GALYEN
We serve in missions because there is inequality of gospel access in our world, and we responded to God’s particular direction to work among secular peoples of Europe. We’ve been in Granada, Spain for 16 years—first working with university students, then as church planters and Strategic Leaders for AGWM. We love equipping new global workers to plant the church among unreached peoples. Our great joy is to share the gospel with someone for the first time. In our free time, Shawn enjoys cooking and ragtime music while Deborah reads for fun and for her doctoral program. We have three wonderful, recently-married adult children.

KIRK + AMY
PRIEST
Kirk & Amy have a passion to know Jesus and make Him known, with hearts that beat for the nations and the next generation. They met as university students in Chi Alpha and served as campus pastors in Louisiana for five years before moving to Germany 23 years ago. There they launched a university ministry, planted churches, and opened a coffee shop, experiencing first-hand how espresso and art open doors. They love equipping young leaders to connect with secular people and their communities in creative, relevant ways and to help them pursue God’s calling on their lives. Kirk loves football and coffee. Amy is an artist and musician.

SAM + LAURA
LUSSIER
Sam and Laura serve Europe from Springfield, MO – Sam as the Director of Media & Communications and Laura as the Director of Operations. Together, they help recruit, train, and share powerful stories of ministry across the Europe Region. They love visiting global workers where they serve and capturing testimonies of God's faithfulness. They serve in missions because they believe that every person in the world should have the opportunity to know Jesus and to have a community of believers in their town that they get to share life with. Fun fact: in their ongoing competition on who has been to the most countries/continents... Laura is currently winning.

ANDREW + JESS
FOSTER
Andrew and Jess met as students at the University of Virginia where the Lord began to open their eyes to the reality of the disparity in gospel access around the world. They currently live with their two kids in Granada, Spain where they serve as leaders of a church planting team. They love walking with people as they discover who Jesus really is for the first time. Andrew is a history enthusiast whose dream retirement job is to be one of the people who dress up at historical re-enactments. Jess enjoys hunting down the best coffee shop in any given area and going on adventures of all kinds.

SHERRY
SABELLA
When Sherry was a teenager, God placed a burden on her heart for countries “Behind the Iron Curtain.” That burden led her to study Missions in college and serve in communist Poland during a summer internship. That summer sealed her call to missions! She and her family served in Prague, Czech Republic for nearly 20 years. Now based in Budapest, Hungary she has the opportunity to lead missionaries and work with national churches across 11 countries in Southeast Europe. She loves traveling to work alongside and minister to those serving in the Balkan region. Recently she got to spend time with a team serving in Bulgaria. Did you know Bulgaria has the oldest known city in all of Europe? Plovdiv, Bulgaria was settled around 6,000 BC!

RAEGAN
GLUGOSH
Raegan is passionate about sharing the hope of Jesus with vulnerable and underserved communities. She lives in Springfield, Missouri but spends several months each year in Europe, based in Bucharest, Romania, where she served for 25 years. She enjoy developing and mentoring missionaries, so they can thrive and reach some of the most spiritually challenging places. Fun fact about Raegan: she started ministry in the sewers of Bucharest, sharing Jesus with kids who were living underground.

BLAKE + ASHLEY
FLECK
Blake and Ashley love and serve Europe from Charlottesville, Virginia, but their hearts will always be in France where they served for 3 years in university ministry. Blake leads worship and Alpha at their local church. Ashley gets to create cool stuff for AGWM Europe from home while keeping one eye on their two little energetic girls. They love building relationship with people over coffee and delicious food, seeing them get curious about faith, and then figuring out how to walk with Jesus! If adults could survive on Hawaiian pizza and cookie dough ice cream, they'd be down. They've also seen every episode of Psych an embarrassing number of times.
